Notable Stock Analysts Ratings: Tesla Motors, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Seven investment analysts have rated the stock with a sell rating, twelve have assigned a hold rating and twelve have assigned a buy rating to the company.

TSLA has been the topic of a number of other reports. FLO holds price to earnings ratio of 24.68 that presents much better indication for a stock's value than the market price alone.

The investment bank cut shares to "sell" from 'neutral, ' citing most all the negatives already outlined and estimates Tesla has skewed risk to the downside.

Shares of Tesla (NDAQ:TSLA) traded up 1.34% during midday trading on Thursday, reaching $249.54.

"Further, the acquisition of SolarCity - which is undergoing its own business model transition - comes at a time when we believe Tesla should be singularly focused on becoming a mass automobile manufacturer", he wrote, referring to the solar energy services company of which Tesla CEO Elon Musk is chairman.

The Russell 2000 index, composed of companies with a small market capitalisation, began the day in a more positive mood, rising 0.4 per cent to 1,400, with Gogo Inc, a provider of in-flight internet services for aircraft, one of the leading performers, rising 16 per cent to $10.58.

The stock was sold at an average price of $212.90, for a total transaction of $532,250.00. Following the sale, the director now owns 166,846 shares of the company's stock, valued at $35,521,513.40. Also, VP John Douglas Field sold 1,000 shares of the business's stock in a transaction that occurred on Tuesday, January 10th. Only a few weeks ago, Tesla did away with the word "Motors" in its name to go ahead with only the Tesla name. Baillie Gifford & Co. increased its stake in shares of Tesla Motors by 9.5% in the second quarter. State Street Corp increased its stake in Tesla Motors by 6.9% in the fourth quarter.
