Tenet CEO welcomes delays in Republican changes to Obamacare

As many Republicans are finding out in their town hall meetings, their constituents aren't exactly as angry about the Affordable Care Act anymore.

Last Week Tonight host John Oliver thinks the Republican answer to Obamacare has become about as obscene as the sight of your dad sporting thong underwear. They have said they won't vote for any bill that is "weaker" than the 2015 bill. But kicking thousands of my fellow veterans off their health insurance by killing the Affordable Care Act, and banning Muslims, won't help.

That's a pretty big promise to try and live up to, and as Oliver has pointed out, the clock is now ticking for republicans to get something done. Enrollment in the individual market would decline by 30 percent, resulting in 90,000 people losing their coverage.

Without detailing specifics, he told executives, "The new plan will be a great plan for the patients, for the people, and hopefully for the companies". Now they face maybe the biggest challenge of all: popular vote loser Donald Trump.

"The goal is that we make sure that people don't lose their coverage and that we have to put a high priority on people that need it most", Sanders said on ABC's "This Week" program Sunday.

The GOP needs to put its cards on the table: What exactly is the process for repeal, what is in the replacement plan and what happens if Republicans can not get 60 votes for that plan?

Because House Republicans and a few conservatives in the Senate can't agree with their leadership on what to about health care, Republicans may fail to do the one thing that looked certain to happen after Trump won the presidential.

"We expect a full repeal of Obamacare and will not accept anything less", a Senate GOP aide familiar with the efforts by Paul, Cruz, and Lee said late Monday when reached by Breitbart News.

The logic behind HSAs and high-deductible plans is to make people aware of how much they are actually paying for health care and encourage them to shop for the best value, which in turn should pressure doctors to control their costs. "Now, open your eyes and tell us what you came up with, because we've got f-king nothing". Instead of committing to pay a percentage of states' Medicare and Medicaid spending, it would instead give them a set amount to do with as they please.

What the Republicans are considering would work well for families with middle-class incomes, Laszewski said. "And between all that and Medicaid expansion, more than 20 million people gained coverage, putting our uninsured rate at a historic low". House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) vowed to pass a repeal of the health care law by the end of March, and conservatives remain committed to that timeline.
