Police are searching for the suspect who allegedly robbed the 25-year-old Birmingham woman on Tuesday, Sgt. Bryan Shelton with the Birmingham Police Department tells PEOPLE.

AlSabah said the man got angry when he was unable to withdraw money, and briskly returned to the vehicle to drive away - that's when the victim suddenly jumped out of the auto. InsideEdition.com's Mara Montalbano (https://twitter.com/MaraMontalbano) has more.

After they are unable to get any money, they tried to leave the gas station.

Birmingham Police on Wednesday tweeted a photo of the kidnapping suspect.

Despite enduring minor injuries, she was physically okay, according to police.

She quickly got up and ran inside the station to call 911, Shelton says. "It is believed the suspect was using her card to get money".

The owner of the the owner of Gas Land station Yosef Alsabah said there was clearly something "not right" and that it looked like he was armed.

As the story goes, the man stopped inside a convenience store, where the woman is said to have found a way to pop the trunk.

When the suspect left and started to drive off, Alsabah watched him through the window of the store.

Another staff member is then seen picking up a phone to call the police.

The kidnapper pointed a gun at the woman, demanding money, cops told the site.

The frightened woman grabbed Alsabah's shotgun until he finally convinced her the driver wasn't coming back.

Alsabah said the woman sustained some cuts and was later taken to a hospital by a family member.
