Home invaders killed at Oklahoma residence

The three intruders forced their way into a home in Broken Arrow on Monday, according to the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office.

"Upon making entry to the home one of the residents fired a rifle striking all three of the suspects", the sheriff's office statement said.

Mahoney said the homeowner's 23-year-old son shot the man and two boys with an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle after they broke into the house, which is about two-thirds of a mile east of the Broken Arrow city limits in Wagoner County. "One was with brass knuckles, the other one was with a knife", Deputy Nick Mahoney said.

The sheriff's office said both the homeowner and his son, who's 23, are cooperating with the investigation and went to the sheriff's office to give statements to investigators.

It happened after midnight on Monday at a home in Wagoner County.

Because her actions constitute a possible felony, and the three were killed during the commission of that felony, Rodriguez faces those first-degree murder charges, as well as three counts of first-degree burglary. Authorities say she was the getaway driver for the suspects.

A fourth suspect behind the wheel of the getaway vehicle, 21-year-old Elizabeth Rodriguez, has turned herself in. The three were found wearing masks and gloves and dressed in black clothing. Two of them died in the kitchen, while another crawled to the driveway before dying as well. As in many states, Oklahoma law dictates that a person who is in the commission of a felony when the death of an accomplice occurs can be charged with felony murder. He said he did not know whether Rodriguez had an attorney. The young man, who was there with his father, heard the "loud bangs" coming from the back door and armed himself with the rifle.

"Within the past six months, we've had two or three burglaries out here", Simmons said.
