HMD Global is gearing up to launch its new Nokia Android phones in India. Out of the two smartphones, the premium Nokia 9 is said to compete with the Galaxy S8 and iPhone 8 in the top-tier segment. Both the Nokia 8 and the Nokia 9 are expected to be announced by the end of the second quarter, while the devices could be introduced later. The right sided smartphone is claimed to be the Nokia 9 but with no home button on the front. Embedded on its home screen is a fingerprint scanner, according to Tech 2. With the specs given, Nokia 9 might also be looking at IP68 certification for protection against water and dust damages, as well as Nokia's OZO Audio feature with 3D capture and low latency. The phone also appears to sport a dual-camera setup. Nokia 6 (which is now running on Android 7.0 Nougat) is apparently receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat in China through OTA (Over The Air) update before going global.
When it comes to the India release, the Nokia 3310 was speculated to be released at first. Some preloaded apps on the smartphone also get updated.
