Teen surfer fatally injured in shark attack witnessed by family

Police said the 17-year-old was in the water with her father near the town of Esperance when she was attacked on Monday afternoon.
The girl was surfing with her father when she was attacked off Esperance in Western Australia state. It's a little bit early.
People have now been advised to stay clear of going to the area for at least the next 48 hours.
The girl was unconscious and her leg badly mauled when taken from the water.
Esperance Police have paid their condolences to the girl and described the circumstances as "devastating".
