Russian navy ship sinks in Black Sea, all 78 crew rescued

Dozens of people have been evacuated from a Russian navy boat that sunk after colliding with a Togo-flagged ship in the Black Sea. It said the collision had punched a hole in the ship and that the crew were "fighting for the survivability of the vessel".

The Anadolu Agency said Prime Minister Binali Yildirim's aides contacted Dmitry Medvedev's office to relay Turkey's message on Thursday.

The Turkish news agency Dogan said the area where the ships collided was shrouded in thick fog at the time, suggesting that the incident was accidental.

Turkey's coast guard said that all 78 of the ship's crew members were rescued, after initial reports suggested that as many as 15 soldiers were missing following the collision.
