Trump offers help on London attacks, touts need for travel ban

A van has mounted the pavement on London Bridge before a stabbing attack, according to witnesses.

Police said they were called just after 10 p.m. (2100GMT) to reports of a vehicle hitting pedestrians on the bridge, which crosses the River Thames in central London. There was a BBC reporter who just happened to be on the bridge this evening, and what she said - her name is Holly Jones.

"I was thinking: Which way do I run to get away?" he said, adding that the van then veered onto the other side of the bridge before hitting a girl. But these last two to three months, we had two confirmed terrorist attacks, 22 people dying up in Manchester at the concert.

"I'd say there are about four severely injured people".

But amid the horror a cabbie - who said he saw the men brandishing "long blades" stabbing "randomly" on Borough High Street - spun around his vehicle and attempted to halt the terror, reports Daily Mail.

The police, on the other hand, are a little more tight-lipped. Some media reports said police were seeking another attacker.

The force initially said officers were also responding to a reported third incident, in the Vauxhall area of London.

Another witness has told Reuters she saw three people with their throats apparently cut on London Bridge.

Ms Jones said police were on the scene within two minutes, quickly followed by ambulances. The police - the London Metropolitan Police - they're the most authoritative source for following these sorts of events in the city.

"Horrific scene at London Bridge".

"I saw this van going left and right, left and right, trying to catch as many people as he could".

London Bridge is closed both ways Transport for London (TfL) said, warning the public to avoid the area.

London Ambulance Service took at least 20 people to six hospitals, the Associated Press reported.

Soon after, reports started coming in of stabbings at Borough Market, a nearby area full of bars and restaurants surrounding a popular food market.

"I thought at first it was fireworks then I recognised it was significant gunfire and that was the first instance", he said.
