Tehran accuses Saudi Arabia of supporting terrorism inside Iran

Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Monday called the USA the "source" of instability in the Middle East and said it was responsible for the creation of the Islamic State terror group.

"We have obtained accurate intelligence that Saudi Arabia supported the terrorists and asked them to carry out attacks in Iran", Maj.

The administration of US President Donald Trump, which took over in January this year, has been apparently opposed to the nuclear accord, which was negotiated under the former US administration.

Following the unprecedented crisis, Zarif has sought to play a positive role and help ease tensions among Iran's Arab neighbors.

Later on in the 1970s and 1980s, Hosseinzadeh added, terrorist groups mostly aimed to target and pressure religious democracy authorities in the country.

The Leader made the remarks on Monday while addressing a gathering of high-ranking Iranian officials, according to PressTV.

Islamic State (IS) extremists claimed responsibility for the attacks, and Iranian officials have repeated accusations that Saudi Arabia funds Islamic militants, including IS.

Iran and Saudi Arabia has been accusing each other of subverting regional security and support opposite sides in conflicts including those in Syria, Yemen and Iraq.

Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council - the United States, France, Britain, Russia and China - plus Germany signed the mammoth agreement in July 2015 and started implementing it in January 2016.

On June 7, terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on Iran's parliament building in downtown Tehran and on the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini, south of the city.

Last week, the Revolutionary Guards linked the "brutal attack" to Donald Trump's visit last month to Riyadh, where the United States president pointed the finger at Iran for fuelling "the fires of sectarian conflict and terror".

The terrorist acts included the assassination of high-profile Iranian officials as well as the killing of ordinary citizens, he said. He propagated the conspiracy theory that the USA wishes to prop up the extremist group to further instability in the region.

Zarif described Iran-Kenya relations as good and assured Kenya of Tehran's readiness for providing humanitarian aid to the country.
