Suspect dead after shooting at NYC hospital

Police said a gunman killed at least one person and injured six others before killing himself inside Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York City on Friday.

According to ABC7NY, gunfire was reported at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center around 3 p.m. local time.

Authorities believe the suspect could be a former employee of the hospital. There was no word on their conditions.

It added that at least one of the wounded doctors had been treated using a tourniquet fashioned from an emergency fire hose. The suspect, who was wearing a white lab coat and had ID on him, shot himself on the 16th floor, according to law enforcement officials. The extent of the victims' injuries is not known.
