Mauricio Pochettino explains his decision regarding Josh Onomah

Last night's rumors that suggested Aston Villa were about to take Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Josh Onomah on loan turned out to be accurate.

Pochettino was initially hesitant to allow Onomah at the centre of the field last season and this loan move to Villa may allow the manager to gauge the players abilities as he will likely be playing for the Villains on a regular basis.

Onomah was part of England's Under-20 World Cup winning squad in June, where he played a box-to-box midfield role, and is expected to play centrally at Villa Park.

England youth global Onomah featured 10 times for Tottenham last season but made just five substitute appearances in the Premier League as he fell behind fellow academy graduate Harry Winks in the pecking order.
