Finland knife attack leaves 2 dead, 8 hospitalized

The suspected killer arrived in Finland past year and was "involved in the asylum seeking process" and lived in an asylum centre in the city of Turku, according to reporting from the police press conference by Finnish broadcaster YLE.

Police in Finland say they are looking for more potential suspects in the stabbing of several people in the western city of Turku.

While news agency AFP claimed that one person was killed, BBC said two were killed un the attack.

Police have so far only described him as "a young man of foreign origin", providing no other details except to say they were collaborating with the Finnish Immigration Service.

Police shot and wounded a knife-wielding suspect on Friday, arresting him minutes after an afternoon stabbing spree at a Turku market square.
