Metroid's Samus Gunship Battle-Car, which comes in two variations based on Samus' Varia Suits, will also get a unique boost called Wave Beam. Players will be hoping that RNG is on their side, however, as item unlocks in Rocket League are entirely random. Psyonix revealed that the Switch's edition is going to feature 3 iconic cars from Nintendo's most famous IPs and we are already "heavy breathing".

Whether or not players use the Mario or Luigi cars will depend on which team color they select before the match. Each vehicle will also have a special trail design, with the Mario Bros. cars using Starmen while the Metroid cars trail a Wave Beam.

Holiday 2017 is what we have been given so we're likely looking at a November or December release. Rocket League will support all of the Switch's play modes, included docked TV mode, tabletop mode, handheld mode, and will feature both online and local multiplayer.

Along with these comes a Metroid battle auto that is themed after Samus' gunship.
