Nadal crushes Del Potro to reach final

Kevin Anderson became the first South African in 52 years to reach the US Open final on Saturday, downing Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

Despite Carreno Busta's toughest fight, it still was not enough to match up against Anderson's explosive game as the 28th seed eventually served out the third set 6-3 after 39 minutes.

It will pit Anderson against either Rafael Nadal or Juan Martin del Potro, who were to play the second semifinal at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Kevin Anderson beat Pablo Carreno Busta to enter the final at the US Open. "All the things that I thought before I was missing out on, (now) I really wasn't", said Stephens, whose late father, John Stephens, was the 1988 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year for the New England Patriots, and whose mother, Sybil Smith, was Boston University's first All-American in women's swimming. Anderson has won just one set against Nadal in all four meetings, and this is their fourth match on hard court.

Carreño Busta is the 10th man over the past 25 years to reach the US Open semifinals without having dropped a set.

This will be the second time in less than a month that Anderson will meet Carreno Busta. He does play music, so we've kind of used that analogy that you've got to embrace the crowd and work the crowd. He reached the final in Washington and made the quarterfinals in Montreal, losing to Alexander Zverev at both tournaments. If Anderson is not able to win enough free points with his first serve, then he will not come away victorious. "It's little things", Anderson said.

It was now the South African making all the running, earning six break points in the third set, albeit needing a Carreno Busta double fault to get over the line. He played his typical steady, if unspectacular, brand of tennis, earning two winners against just one unforced error.

Venus Williams knocked out of US Open by Sloane Stephens
Later, on moving to the second set, Willaim has given a tough fight to the Stephen by acquiring 6 points, Stephens at 0 points. It hasn't always been pretty with Stephens this tournament, but she's willed her way to victory each time .

GDP: US Economic Growth in 2Q Revised Higher to Solid 3%
Real GDP represents the value of the production of goods and services in the economy and is adjusted for inflation. A slow first quarter followed by an improved second quarter also occurred in two of the past three years.

But this time the stakes are higher and both men are on the brink of a first grand slam final‚ which brings its own pressure. It was Carreno Busta's first match of the tournament against an opponent who was not a qualifier.

This is the second Grand Slam title for Tecau and Rojer, who won Wimbledon in 2015.

"When Juan Martin is playing well, it's hard to stop him".

Kevin Anderson had a tough challenge in the quarterfinal as he faced the 17th seed Sam Querrey of the United States.

However, his last loss at this stage came on the same NY hard courts in 2009 at the hands of Del Potro, who went on to shock five-time champion Federer in the final.

An exhausted Del Potro began netting easy shots and found himself down an early break in the fourth set.
