Indian soldiers along the Indo-Pakistan border have been gunning down at least five-six terrorists every day, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday.

The Minister said being an autonomous body, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had done its job well in its crackdown on terrorists and separatists. "The NIA is playing an effective role in curbing the flow of FICN and terror funding", Singh wrote on Twitter.

Stating that terrorism, including Naxalite activities, has became one of biggest challenges that the country has been facing, the Home Minister added, "Prime Minister Naranedra Modi has emerged as a strong voice against terrorism at the global level". In 95 per cent of its cases, the accused get conviction, he said.

Mr Kumar claimed investigations by the NIA in the last few years revealed a diverse range of illegal activities like terror funding to specific cases of terror, including the killing of innocent persons.
