Snapchat Launches Location-Based 'Context Cards' With Uber, Goop, TripAdvisor and Others

They're essentially adverts, which are created to display information about businesses, venues and places, and make it easier for you to visit or make a booking with them.
Snapchat is now trying to give those users a reason to stay on their app, introducing Tuesday a new feature called Context Cards that appear at the bottom of a snap.
Other partners for Context Cards include Foursquare, Michelin, Lyft, Resy, Bookatable and Goop, actress Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand.
The feature can also help you take simple actions such as booking a ride with Uber or reserving a table through Bookatable or Open Table.
With the advent of Story Search and Snap Maps, Snapchat has proved not just that Snaps are good for more than silly selfies, but that Snapchat is one of the best resources when you want to know what's happening in a particular location.
Context Cards are available in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand for Snapchatters on iOS and Android from today.
Snapchat says that its new Context Cards Snaps become the visual starting point for learning more about the world - empowering its community to get more information about anything that catches their eye.
Snap says it aims to always show you the most relevant information. That will let users access related posts submitted to Our Story (if they're tagged at or near the location) as well as imagery from partners. For a peek at how Context Cards work, check out the video below.
The company said it plans to add more partners and additional information to Context Cards in the future.
Additional cards may contain reviews, hours of operation, phone numbers and links to hail a ride or book a reservation.
