Another Hollywood Figure Is Facing Dozens Of Sexual Harassment Claims

Toback, who has directed films like Black and White, and Two Girls and a Guy while also being nominated for writing Warren Beatty's film Bugsy, is now facing mounting accusations of sexual harassment, and the details are sickening.

Oscar-nominated writer-director James Toback has been accused of sexually harassing at least 38 women stemming back to at least the 1980s. All of them offer startlingly similar accounts - spanning decades - that generally involved Toback approaching women on the street and offering "auditions" that consisted of luring them to a hotel room, his apartment, a movie trailer, or even Central Park. Then, the women say, Toback masturbated or rubbed himself against them to completion.

The Los Angeles Times reported Monday that it spoke to 38 women about the allegations, with 31 speaking on the record. He also argued that it would be "biologically impossible" to perform behaviors he is accused of because of diabetes and a coronary condition that has been suffering for 22 years. Though he's worked with many famous actors like Robert Downey Jr., James Caan and Heather Graham, the average moviegoer likely wouldn't recognize Toback's name.

Louise Post, guitarist and vocalist for band Veruca Salt, who in 1987 met Toback at Barnard University, recalled that director told him he wanted to masturbate while looking him in eye.

"It's a common thread among many women I know ... after someone mentions they were sexually abused by a creepy writer-director, the response is, 'Oh, no".

"I felt like a whore, a disappointment to myself, my parents, my friends". One woman recounted the time when she met Toback at his NY home and he wouldn't let her leave until she grabbed his nipples and looked into his eyes while he masturbated.

"It's important to say, I don't have any firsthand information about any of this", wrote "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn in a post on Facebook.

When the actress jumped away from him, he ejaculated in his trousers.

"It really is not all of Hollywood", Gunn replied.

After she undressed, Toback allegedly began rubbing his groin against her bare leg, at which point she grabbed her clothes and fled. At the same time, he'd tell her that he planned to put her in a movie. Toback's alleged M.O. was so depressingly monotonous that the magazineran his accusers' stories in a giant four-page foldout table, with column headers like "The Credentials", "Pitching the Project", and "Trust Me".
