Trump adviser Page describes meeting with Russian official during 2016 campaign

Page wrote in a July 2016 email to Trump campaign aides that Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich "expressed strong support for Mr. Trump and a desire to work together toward devising better solutions in response to a vast range of current global problems", according to a transcript of more than six hours of testimony Page gave last week before a House of Representatives committee investigating Russian interference in the US election.

It's always been known that Page traveled to Moscow in July 2016, but he has said it was in his private capacity, unrelated to his role with the Trump campaign.

Last week Papadopoulos pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators about his Russian Federation contacts during 2016.

Democratic lawmakers charge Attorney General Jeff Sessions was inconsistent with details on the campaign's relationship with Russian Federation. Page testified he told Sessions about the July 2016 Moscow trip, it has been previously reported. The Justice Department may bring charges against Russian officials responsible for the hacking of the Democratic National Committee.

A barrage of reports over the weekend divulged what was framed as a major new development in the Russian Federation investigation: former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page admitted that he met with a senior Kremlin official during a July 2016 trip to Moscow.

Brock Osweiler to start for Broncos
Joseph said Lynch hasn't played enough football yet since returning from the injury to be ready to start. The Broncos may look to trade him next offseason and move on with Osweiler, Lynch or someone else.

The Saints scored on an 8-yard run by Alvin Kamara on the opening possession and a 1-yard run by Ingram later in the first half. Ingram's score capped an 80-yard drive and was set up by a 19-yard reception by Josh Hill to the 1-yard line.

The lead Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Congressman Adam Schiff, said Page's public remarks prior to his appearance before the panel that his trip to Moscow was as a private citizen were undercut by his congressional testimony. In an interview with the Washington Post over a year ago, Page acknowledged that he met and shook hands with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich during a graduation event at the New Economic School, where both men were invited to give speeches. Last month he told NBC News, "I'm cooperating with everyone in D.C. who might want my assistance". A photo showed Sessions also attended that campaign meeting, and a source told CNN that at the meeting, Sessions vetoed the proposed Trump-Putin sit-down. He called the Russian Federation investigation a "witch hunt that was sparked by the dodgy dossier in the months prior to November 2016".

Former U.S Attorney Preet Bharara said he believes one-time Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort may "flip" and provide damaging information on other political associates in exchange for a favorable plea deal.

It is Page's subsequent downplaying of that encounter that made it seem like a new revelation when reports emerged that Page divulged the encounter in his lengthy closed-door testimony before the House Intelligence Committee late last week.

But he also said he had "been in a lot of meetings with him (Trump), and I've learned a lot from him".
