The judges are celebrity Iron Chef Bobby Flay, celebrity chef Curtis Stone, the owner of Chipotle, Steve Ells, and Lorena Garcia.  They will be putting their own dime on the line to fund the winning contestant’s idea which will launch in New York, Los Angeles and Minneapolis.

In the first episode, the panel of judges will determine out of 21 finalists who will be in the Top 10.  NBC clearly desires to replicate the reality show foodie success of the highly-rated “Top Chef” franchise found on Bravo TV which is a child network.

What ‘America’s Next Great Restaurant’ has going for it is being able to jump on the bandwagon and watch a fellow American achieve that ever elusive ‘American Dream’.  The U.S audience can be a part of the journey of the winner’s success eating the latest delectables. Even non-viewers have a say in the success of the restaurant since they may be frequenting the establishment in one of the three locales having no idea that restaurant was once part of reality show history.  With experts like Bobby Flay and Curtis Stone at the helm, and the stakes being so high, it will be interesting to watch how successful they are.

The jewelry store just profited from the surveillance video and apparently has caused the prosecutor a legal nightmare trying to win the case. The prosecution’s case, seemed to be quite strong against the Hollywood starlet since her credibility has already been under question over the last few months.

Lohan who was released from rehab in January, exited the Betty Ford Clinic with a few reported scuffles and incidents under her belt while she was there. Kamofie & Co., the jewelry store in question, has been trying to sell the video footage to many media outlets. The video has been sold for a reported $35,000 and will be released to the public on Monday.

Lindsay has always maintained that the necklace was given to her on loan.  She has refused a plea deal and stands by her innocence.

The defense maintains that intent is critical to the case and the jeweler by selling the video now appears to have been in it for a quick buck. Kamofie & Co. has lost credibility and has put the entire case in jeopardy due to profiteering.

Allegedly, the attorney for Kamofie, have been trying to dissuade them from selling the tape , but appears to have lost the battle.

The defense attorney, Shawn Holley and prosecutor Danette Meyers are scheduled to meet in Judge Keith Schwartz’s chambers. It’s highly likely that Holley will persuade to have the case dismissed due to the recent developments.

The mother, Natalie Williamson, explained that her son Riley, and her now estranged husband were flying from Fiji to Sydney when the flight attendant picked up Riley, placed him in the overhead bin and shut the door.

The incident was confirmed by Virgin Airlines but stated that Williamson’s husband was playing a game of hide and seek with Riley when the flight attendant decided to join in.

“We conducted a thorough investigation of the incident and the staff member involved was subsequently terminated,” a Virgin spokeswoman explained.

Williamson commented further stating “My husband, Shayne, was standing one meter behind my son, Riley, when the air steward picked him up and placed him in the overhead compartment.  I stood up and there were people laughing and then I said ‘Get my son out of there now’,” she said.

“I was devastated. I was absolutely devastated.” Williamson noted that Riley was locked in the compartment for about 10 seconds in complete darkness. Various specialists have observed Riley, who is now 20 months old, since the event, said Williamson. Riley is exhibiting signs of distress that include anxiety and withdrawal.

“He won’t leave my sight now. He sleeps with me. If I’m not in the same room as him, he will scream and yell ‘Mum, mum, mum,’ “she explained. A spokeswoman for Virgin said that “the safety of our guests is our top priority.”

“We have expressed our sincere apologies to the guest and have provided them with a credit for the full amount of the two return flights.” Williamson acknowledged that Virgin Blue presented her free tickets, but she explained that she is too traumatized to cash them in.

Laser guns  send out pulses of UV light, so darker colors will reflect less light than a bright color. The technology war between cops and speeders shows no signs of letting up. According to the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, new materials used for photovoltaic cells could also have applications for both radar and laser absorption.

The single is Kim’s latest venture into her ever expanding portfolio.  The pop star is turning philanthropist and says that she plans to donate the proceeds from ‘Jam’ to a cancer charity, Kim’s father, Robert Kardashian died from throat cancer in 2003 at the age of 59.

“Apple made it very thin (…) We will have to improve the parts that are inadequate,” Lee Don-Joo explained to the Yonhap News Agency.

We don’t want to misinterpret Samsung’s intentions since there may be something that was lost in the translation.  Samsung isn’t likely to abandon the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab and pull it from retailer’s shelves until a thinner model is released. Samsung apparently sees the iPad 2′s thinness as a key concern to address in its future tablet releases.

Lee Don-Joo’s statement also revealed the challenge of the price point. “The 10-inch (tablet) was to be priced higher than the 7-inch, but we will have to think that over,” he stated.

Samsung seems to be making a sound business decision by not competing with the iPad at a higher price point just because the deal looks good on paper. They realize that they would have much more to lose if their pricing structure wasn’t in line with the stronger iPad 2 model.

The iPad 2 will be priced between $499 — $829 price range. The least expensive 3G option is priced at $629.  Android tablets will find it difficult to compete with the iPad 2 at a price on the end of the price range.

Galliano, is in rehab allegedly due to alcohol addiction which was spurred on by some anti-semitic rants that he reportedly made while drunk on at least three separate occasions.

Galliano is being accused of calling an innocent bystander a ‘dirty Jew’, and is seen in a separate video on YouTube shouting ‘I love Hitler’.

If Galliano is convicted of anti-semitic remarks, he could spend up to six months in jail.

What is truly ironic about the sad situation is that Galliano seems to fighting his preoccupation with his own Jewish roots.

Galliano was born to a Gibraltan father, Juan, and a Spanish mother, Anita.  The family migrated to England when Galliano was six years old.  According to a source that is close to Galliano, the designer loved to focus on his own Jewish ancestry.  He would often sit at the café in question, La Perle, with a mojito in hand, and tell the patrons about his heritage.

He had always proclaimed he had Jewish blood from the Sephardic Jews who came from Spain and Portugal in the 19th century.

‘Johnny is obsessed with the idea of being descended from Jews,’ the anonymous source said who listened to Galliano’s stories at the cafe.  ‘He was brought up a Catholic, but has always been aware of the influence Jews have had on his life,” the source commented. ‘Johnny was particularly fascinated by the fact that couture in Paris was traditionally a Jewish industry.’

The source added that, when sober, Galliano spoke authoritatively about the Holocaust, and particularly about the fact that thousands who worked in the fashion business in Paris were murdered by the Nazis.

‘Johnny knows that Paris designers were exterminated systematically by the Nazis in living memory. To me, the freaky language in a Paris bar was just nonsense — an attempt to shock strangers in bars. He just didn’t want to present them with the image they expected — he wanted to surprise. He does this on the catwalk, so why not in a bar?’

Galliano has apologized for the video, but maintains that he is not responsible for any other racist abuse.

Showing that he hadn’t lost his sense of humor, Arquette tweeted: “I got into a car accident but I’m fine. Luckily I have tiger’s blood running through my veins. Haha Thank you for all your concern.” He then continued, “Remember to wear your seatbelt-wish I was.”

Arquette’s dragon blood reference was a shout out to Charlie Sheen who earlier last week referred to himself as having “tiger’s blood.”

A bystander who watched the accident occur said that the vehicle in front of Arquette stopped suddenly and forced him to veer into oncoming traffic which caused the crash.

Arquette was photographed just after the accident lying on the ground on the side of the road bleeding and holding his chest. Arquette’s rep reported that the actor was going to okay even before he made it to the hospital. “He’s fine,” says the rep. “He is on his way to be treated.”

David was driving to the Burbank airport to fly to Las Vegas to attend an event hosted by Kim Kardashian.  Arquette appeared on Oprah Winfrey last week to explain the events that led to his separation from his wife Courteney Cox Arquette. He also explained why he entered rehab and his long battle with alcoholism. Arquette appeared to be on the upswing and was embracing his newfound lease on life.  Hopefully, the changes in life will extend to wearing a seatbelt regularly.

With civil war breaking out all over the Middle East and the violence extending to Saudi Arabia who is the largest oil supplier to the U.S. it appears that gas prices will soon exceed $4 and perhaps even $5 a gallon.

As long as the unrest stays clear of the Persian Gulf and oil supplies remain undisrupted ,there’s a strong opinion that gas prices could fall .25 to .75 cents per gallon from their current position of $3.43 which is the U.S average.

The U.S Energy Information Administration is forecasting that the gas will average $3.15 a gallon for the year. That estimate is being increased to reflect the recent distress in Libya.

It’s doubtful that the USEIA will revise the again from the current going rate of $3.43 a gallon, stated EIA economist Neil Gamson. Once the political unrest becomes contained, the implication is prices will fall at some point this year.

Predicting the price of gasoline for the remainder of the year may be helpful if you are planning a vacation or due to the higher travel costs.  Preparing for the long-term, four or five years in the future, there are two ways of thinking to where gas prices are headed.

The first way, is that gas prices will remain similar to what we are experiencing today.

This viewpoint is based on the idea that global economic growth will remain slow for the next couple of years. People will continue to buy more fuel efficient vehicles.

The second way of thinking is that oil supplies will not increase at a rapid rate as some predict, and demand from countries like China, India, and Brazil will be much more robust making gas prices skyrocket due to the competition for resources.

“A supply crunch is coming,”  Kevin Norrish, a commodities analyst at Barclays in London, states.

Norrish sees oil prices topping out at $137 a barrel by 2015. That would mean that gas would cost $4.25 gasoline.

Anyway that one views at the outlook, the U.S is in a much better situation than the U.K. Currently, the British are paying the equivalent of $8.06 per gallon making it appear that Americans don’t have much to complain about.

This collection is the largest thus far, and totals more than 6,000 pages of material.  The documentation dates from 1994 to 2000.

Included in the documentation is a sighting from Birmingham, England, in March 1997. The man who reported the UFO said that he came home from work at 4 a.m. and found a large blue triangle-shaped craft hovering in his back yard.

“It was silent but caused dogs in the neighborhood to bark,” the report said. It “shot off and disappeared” after about three minutes, the report said, leaving behind a “silky-white substance” on the treetops, some of which he saved in a jar.

In January 1997, a man from South Wales drove home one night and witnessed “a ‘tube of light’ coming down from the sky,” which at first appeared to like a “massive star” coming toward him.

When the man reached for his cell phone and noticed that the car radio failed, the report said, he man got out of his car and walked through the light. The report then stated that he got back into his car but started feeling sick. Soon afterward, he developed a skin condition and had to turn to his doctor. The report stated that his car was covered in dust and dirt.

The reports are not limited to individual sightings. Groups of people have also made it into the documentation.  In August 1997, five members of a fishing boat which was sailing in the North Sea saw a round, flat, shiny object hovering in the sky.

The object was visible by naked eye and through binoculars. The report also stated “witness very skeptical of UFOs. They tracked the object on their radar for several seconds before it vanished,” the report said.

In another much larger group citing, police officers in Boston and Skegness, England, which is located on both on England’s east coast, shot a UFO on video at the same time that the Royal Air Force (RAF) also detected an “unidentified blip” on their radar, the report states.

The event occurred in October 1996, when police officers saw “strange rotating red, blue, green and white flashing lights in the sky,” the report stated. A ship, which was located, a bay near Boston, also reported seeing the lights. At the exact same time the Royal Air Force air defense radars detected the object over Boston, the report stated.
