American Idol Voting Change

American IdolThere’s another big change in store for American Idol fans this season 10. Not only did followers have to get used to the fact that the ever acerbic Simon Cowell had been replaced on the show, fans also had to get used to the Steven Tyler’s crazy quips and Jennifer Lopez’s picture perfect wardrobe and hairstyle changes every 10 minutes throughout the show.

Over the last nine years, fans of the show could vote either by text or by calling. The latest change this season, is the show will give viewers even more voting power by allowing for online voting.  Get your wi-fi ready and start clicking the submit button when the voting is opened to the home audience.

Voters will be able to vote on the American Idol website. The site will be linked to peoples’ Facebook accounts so they can use that to log in. They’ll then be taken to a voting page that features each contestants name and photo. Select your favorite artist and complete a security verification box to submit your vote. Fans will be allowed to vote up to 50 times during the eligible timeframe.

“We have been wanting to do online voting for several years, and now Facebook has offered us a secure solution and we are ready to go,” said ‘Idol’ creator Simon Fuller in a press release. “The show has always involved a high level of engagement with its viewers through texting and phone voting, and it’s great to expand on this tradition.”
